Diddy faces a jail sentence after being found guilty by a U.S. judge.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of transporting people for prostitution connected to alleged drug-fueled sexual performances, and a U.S. federal judge has announced that he will be sentenced on October 3, 2025.
Despite being cleared of the most serious charges in the case, Combs, 55, is still being held at a Brooklyn jail where he was arrested in September 2024.
The music mogul was exonerated by a jury on July 2 of charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which carried life sentences. He was convicted on two counts of transporting someone to engage in prostitution, though.
Combs and his supporters celebrated the verdict, which many saw as a blow to the prosecution.
Prosecutors charged Combs during the trial with forcing two ex-girlfriends, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and another who testified under the alias Jane, into unwelcome sex with male prostitutes, allegedly with the help of Combs’ staff. A third woman, known only as Mia, testified that Combs had repeatedly sexually assaulted her during her employment with him.
By September 19th, his legal team is expected to submit their recommended sentence, and a week later, the prosecutors are expected to submit theirs. According to federal sentencing guidelines, prosecutors have suggested that Combs could receive a sentence of 51–63 months in prison; however, the defense contends that a two-year sentence would be more suitable.
Judge Subramanian may take into account other suggestions and is not required to adhere to sentencing guidelines. Additionally, Combs’ defense team has until July 30 to submit a motion to reverse the conviction.
The Notorious B.I.G. and Usher’s careers were greatly aided by Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, who is recognized for having revolutionized hip-hop culture in the United States.
Combs is still facing numerous civil lawsuits alleging various forms of abuse, all of which he has categorically denied, despite the mixed verdict in his criminal case.
