Awal apologizes to Sarkodie while kneeling on live radio in an attempt to restore their broken relationship.

In a recent interview, rapper Awal Mohammed—once regarded as a protégé of Ghanaian rap legend Sarkodie—made a heartfelt public apology in an attempt to patch up their tense relationship. On Hitz Gallery, an emotional moment occurred when Awal acknowledged a possible rift between him and Sarkodie and knelt down to beg for her forgiveness.

”I don’t know if I have offended him [Sarkodie] or not. Maybe I said or did something he didn’t like, so truthfully and honestly, I am here on this show asking for forgiveness. He should please forgive me and take me back as his son. The prodigal son is back. I’m also pleading with Ghanaians to speak to him for me”

Sarkodie and Awal have been connected for more than ten years. Awal initially became well-known across the country after impressing the rap sensation with his flawless stage performance of Sarkodie’s lyrics, which resulted in a mentor-mentee relationship.

Awal’s status as a rising star in Ghana’s rap scene was cemented by their collaboration on the song “Keep Feeling It,” which earned him the moniker “Sarkodie Jr.”

Awal made hints about feeling abandoned during the interview, asking if Sarkodie still saw his potential. He claimed that he needed to “prove himself,” implying that his mentor’s assistance might have waned over time.

He nevertheless acknowledges and is appreciative of Sarkodie’s early mentoring, which he views as a crucial component of his professional development.

Because of his exceptional lyrical skills on the popular reality show Talented Kidz, Awal became well-known. He gained widespread recognition thanks to Sarkodie’s early mentoring. However, Awal has recently discussed the difficulties of navigating the music business on one’s own and the resulting personal development.

One of Ghana’s most talked-about mentor-mentee relationships in music may now be rebuilt as a result of his public appeal on Hitz FM.
