Due to Medikal’s alleged use of “Alla” in the song “Shoulder,” DJ Azonto demands $100 million.
Rapper Medikal has come under fire from Ghanaian Amapiano sensation DJ Azonto for allegedly utilizing his well-known tagline, “Alla,” without permission in the recently released single “Shoulder.”
The song, which features Beatztrap KOTM and award-winning artist Shatta Wale, has become very popular recently and is at the top of several streaming platforms’ charts.
“The term ‘Alla’, which is part of DJ Azonto’s signature slogan ‘Alla Woyo’, is an established element of his artistic identity. It is strongly linked to his image, live performances, and fan engagement,” the statement noted”.
”Its unexpected appearance in the track ‘Shoulder’, without any credit, permission, or collaboration, constitutes a violation of intellectual property and brand identity”.
In order to settle the dispute amicably, the management is requesting a $100 million compensation package in addition to diamond chains and other unidentified items.
