Medikal addresses criticism regarding an alleged inappropriate incident involving a female student.
In response to public criticism after a contentious incident involving a female student at a live music event on Saturday, June 14, 2025, award-winning Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, better known in show business as Medikal, has addressed the situation.
According to some members of the public, the La Hustle hitmaker harassed a University of Ghana student while they were onstage. The event, which was caught on camera and extensively shared, provoked social media outrage and demands for accountability.
Medikal addressed the matter in a video that was circulated online, categorically denying any improper behavior. It was his first time meeting the student, he explained, and he had invited her at first.

Medikal went on to say that his hand unintentionally touched the young woman’s butt during an embrace, but he maintained that the gesture was harmless.
”When I called her to come on stage, I wasn’t even looking, and my hand fell somewhere unintentionally when I was hugging her. A lot of people are reading different meanings into it”
The rapper emphasized that he has a great deal of respect for all people, regardless of gender, and warned his detractors against calling the incident harassment. He reiterated that he had committed no willful misconduct.
Following the public outcry following the incident that occurred during Medikal’s performance at the Evandy-Bani Hall Week celebration, this clarification was made. Public concern was heightened by the female student’s obvious discomfort and her covering her mouth with her hands following the on-stage encounter.
