Fire KOD for publicly promoting LGBTQ+ content from the office – KOKA to Mahama

KOKA, also known as Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, has publicly criticized Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD), a broadcaster and director of diaspora affairs, for what he called the “promotion of homosexuality” on social media. After a video of two men kissing beneath Ghana’s national monuments in Independence Square went viral, he made these comments.

KOD asked, “Who are they?” in reference to the couple, after sharing the video on Facebook. “This is not interrogation, this is promotion,” KOKA said during a June 25, 2025, appearance on Movement TV, accusing him of using his position to covertly support same-sex relationships.

KOD’s office, which oversees interactions with guests and returnees, KOKA contended that

”If you are not in support of this behaviour, you should have acted, not posted”

”Today, your office is promoting gayism in Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana. This should not be tolerated”

KOKA concluded that removing KOD would serve as a warning to other public officials who might use their influence to promote values that contradict Ghana’s cultural and moral stance.
