Petitioners for Cina Soul Sam George and the police over Big Akwes’ “death threats”
Following a terrifying threat made by Kumawood actor Big Akwes in a televised interview, Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul (real name Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome) has expressed her extreme worry and fear.
Big Akwes made the unsettling claim that he would “kill Cina Soul” while playing the game Kiss–Marry–Kill in a widely shared video clip from Bryt TV. The actor went into graphic detail to further explain his remark, saying he would use a spiritual mirror to call her, repeatedly stab her, and drink her blood.
Cina Soul, who was shaken, tagged the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, Communications Minister Sam George, and the Ghana Police Service in her official X (formerly Twitter) account, which she used to demand protection and action.

We must not normalise hate”
The Ojorley singer has previously been the target of Big Akwes’ attacks. He was publicly censured in April 2025 for making fun of Cina Soul’s attire in a dance video for her Did I Lie? album. He accused her of body-shaming her appearance and being “attention-seeking.”
The original commentary’s broadcaster, Max TV, formally apologized after the incident, acknowledging that the comments were uncalled for and improper. Big Akwes, however, urged the public to “re-analyse” the video rather than offer an apology.
