Suzzy Pinamang travels back to Ghana following a successful eye operation.

As Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang, the Adventist Senior High School student who was shot in the eye by a classmate, returned home following successful surgery in London, there were scenes of gratitude and happiness at Kotoka International Airport.

Following the tragic classroom shooting incident earlier this year, the second-year student, whose story won over Ghanaians’ hearts, had been fighting to regain her sight.

Public support poured in after her family’s heartfelt plea for assistance went viral on social media.

As Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang, the Adventist Senior High School student who was shot in the eye by a classmate, returned home following successful surgery in London, there were scenes of gratitude and happiness at Kotoka International Airport.

The second year after the terrible classroom shooting incident earlier this year, a year student whose story won over Ghanaians’ hearts had been fighting to regain her sight.

Public support poured in after her family’s heartfelt plea for assistance went viral on social media.

Ibrahim Mahama, a philanthropist and businessman, stepped in to cover all of Suzzy’s travel and medical costs,  her to have access to specialized eye surgery overseas.

A video of Suzzy’s arrival has gone viral online, showing her grinning while surrounded by supporters and well-wishers. She is now back in Ghana and clearly in a good mood.

She was overheard saying she wanted to stop going to school in a humorous moment that was captured on camera. One of the people there gently urged her to persevere and keep going to school.
