Ntim Fordjour attributes the kissing incident between the gay couple to Mahama and NDC.

President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have come under fire from Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, who claims that the government is encouraging what he describes as a basic disregard for Ghana’s traditional cultural values.

The MP’s harshly worded criticism surfaced in reaction to a widely shared video purporting to show two foreign men of the same sex having intimate encounters and participating in what looks to be a ceremonial celebration at Ghana’s Independence Square, with the national flag prominently displayed.

Reverend Fordjour argued that such public protests are a challenge to Ghana’s established moral principles and national character, and he directly linked the incident to what he described as the NDC administration’s lax stance on LGBTQ+ issues.

Referencing his ongoing support for the anti-LGBTQ+ legislation presently being considered by parliament, the lawmaker contended that the incident highlights the vital necessity of enacting more robust legislative measures.
