The government has paid off all of the GES’s capital grant arrears for basic schools.

The Government of Ghana has completely paid off all outstanding arrears of the Capitation Grant for basic schools, spanning the years 2023 to the present, according to the Ghana Education Service (GES).
“The payment of these arrears demonstrates the government’s strong resolve and practical support for the smooth operation and effective management of basic education nationwide,” read a press release signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES, dated July 23, 2025.
