15 years of hard labor in prison for false pretense fraud was imposed on Nana Agradaa.

Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, the self-proclaimed evangelist and founder of Godsway International Church, was found guilty of defrauding by false pretense and engaging in charlatanic advertising and was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor.

The Circuit Court in Accra rendered the decision after she was found guilty of charges related to a widely publicized money-doubling scam that was broadcast in 2022.

The court heard that Christian evangelist Nana Agradaa, a former traditional priestess, had broadcast a promotional video in which she asserted that she had the ability to double money through spiritual means. Dozens of people flocked to her church, Heaven Way Champion Ministries, in response to the broadcast, giving large sums of money in the hopes of receiving them back.

The victims were duped instead, which sparked a rapid police investigation and public outcry.

The court mandated that a pregnancy test be performed prior to the final sentencing in accordance with sentencing guidelines. She was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor after it was established that she was not pregnant.

Nana Agradaa is presently embroiled in a number of additional legal disputes. She is facing charges of defrauding by false pretense and charlatanic advertising in three different cases that are currently pending before various circuit courts in Accra.

In addition, she is on trial for allegedly participating in the 2020 attack on one Prophet Akwasi Appiah, also referred to as Appiah Biblical.

Earlier in 2023, Nana Agradaa was arrested again by the Ghana Police on Monday, January 16, 2023, just after going to court. This was a dramatic development. Police detained her on the court grounds for a different issue, even though her case had been postponed until January 20.

In 2021, the former fetish priestess—who was previously well-known for her contentious TV appearances—rebranded herself as a Christian evangelist. Her ongoing legal issues, however, have cast doubt on the veracity of her ministry and conversion.
