Shatta Wale warns, “I’ll reveal things that would land Despite and me in trouble with the FBI.”

After media figures on Despite-owned platforms criticized his associate Medikal, Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has sent a strong warning to well-known businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite.

Shatta Wale discussed the recent criticism Medikal received from media commentators, such as MC Yaa Yeboah, following a contentious incident involving a female University of Ghana student during a performance during a TikTok Live session. According to the SM boss, Medikal had privately voiced his concerns to him about the severe criticisms, which he felt were unwarranted.

Shatta Wale took advantage of the occasion to draw attention to what he believes to be a larger issue in the media, citing the harm that unfavorable remarks have done to highlife singer Bisa Kdei’s career.

”The media once destroyed Bisa Kdei’s career by branding his music as suitable only for funerals. He had to find new ways to monetise his craft, and now he’s wealthier than most employees at Despite Media”

”If anyone dares to mention my name on Peace FM or UTV again, I’ll reveal things about Despite that would land both of us in trouble with the FBI. The country won’t be able to handle it if I start talking”

Additionally, he accused the CEO of Despite Automobile Museum and Fadda Dickson, the general manager of Despite Media, of doing nothing in response to previous complaints.

The incident that led to Shatta Wale’s outburst happened on June 14, 2025, during Medikal’s performance at the University of Ghana during Evandy-Bani Hall Week. The rapper received backlash for touching a female student inappropriately while performing.

Speaking on Neat FM, MC Yaa Yeboah denounced Medikal’s actions and called for disciplinary action. She also made links between Medikal’s behavior and his affiliation with Shatta Wale, implying that the two could be affecting one another.

In a furious social media response, Medikal called the media personality “ignorant” and verbally attacked her, among other derogatory remarks.

Since then, the controversy has gotten out of control, and Shatta Wale has stepped in to defend his friend while threatening media figures he feels are spreading false information.
