2Baba Apologizes After Controversial Comment About Men and Monogamy
Nigerian music star 2Baba, also known as Innocent Idibia, has issued a heartfelt apology following backlash over remarks he made about men and relationships. In a recent appearance on the 234 Mzansi podcast, 2Baba stated that men are “not wired to be sexually committed to just one woman,” a comment many saw as promoting polygamy and disrespecting women.
After facing strong public criticism, 2Baba took to Instagram to express regret over what he said. He admitted that his statement was poorly thought out and didn’t reflect his true values. In the apology video, he said:
“I messed up big time. I wasn’t thinking clearly. That wasn’t the real me talking. I know a lot of people were disappointed, and I’m truly sorry.”
He specifically apologized to his partner Natasha, his children, his former wife Annie Idibia, and fans who were hurt or disappointed by his words. He acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate, especially considering his status as a public figure and role model.
2Baba also mentioned that he was going through personal challenges, including the end of his 12-year marriage to Annie and a new relationship with Natasha. However, he clarified that these personal developments had nothing to do with the controversial statement he made.
He ended by saying that he hopes to learn from his mistake and become a better person, despite the backlash and public scrutiny he is currently facing.
