Reports that Agradaa has vanished from Nsawam prison are addressed by the Prisons PRO.

Mr. Latif vehemently refuted circulating reports and videos claiming that Agradaa was not fulfilling her 15-year custodial sentence during an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam morning show on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

We are all aware that the court convicted our sister and mother, Agradaa, for offences she committed. There are videos circulating that claim she has not yet arrived at the prison facility. I want to state categorically that Agradaa is in prison. We brought her to the facility last Saturday. She is in our custody,

“I said.”

Mr. Latif explained that on Saturday, July 5, 2025, the televangelist was formally moved to the Nsawam Female Prison, only two days after Judge Evelyn E. Asamoah sentenced her at Accra Circuit Court ‘10’ on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

He added that the short wait between sentencing and incarceration was due to administrative procedures involved in the transfer process.

In response to additional accusations, the PRO denied that Agradaa had suffered physical abuse at the hands of fellow prisoners or adversaries while incarcerated. He emphasized that stringent guidelines pertaining to the welfare of inmates are enforced by the Ghana Prisons Service.

”Inmates’ rights are protected in prison. Officers are not permitted to assault prisoners, and no inmate is allowed to abuse a fellow inmate’

Mr. Latif also mentioned that the Prisons Service would perform a standard behavioral evaluation after she was admitted to the Nsawam facility. Whether Agradaa should stay at Nsawam or be moved to another facility that might be more appropriate for her rehabilitation will depend on the results of this evaluation.

His comments coincide with mounting rumors about Agradaa’s whereabouts, which have been sparked by recent reports from the Crime Check Foundation (CCF) and social media users.

Ibrahim Kwarteng, the organization’s executive director, stated that after asking at the Nsawam Female Prison, he was unable to verify Agradaa’s whereabouts. Additionally, he claimed that the convicted evangelist had not started her sentence
